Last summer on the very last day of our 10-day driving tour of Germany, July 24, we zoomed past the Luneburger Heide on the right hand side of the road on the way back to Hamburg to board the Queen Mary 2 the next day. We didn't stop anywhere but had to snap photos from our rented Ford Mondeo. It was visually appealing to be able to look at tall trees, woods, big green fields, and sheep instead of signs or more buildings. The Germans should have named an autobahn rest stop after it.
